What it does.

I built Doc Chat to let users ask questions about their PDFs instead of searching through them page by page. Users upload a document, select it, and ask questions in a chat interface. The application retrieves relevant content from that document to provide context for the model’s response.

Document retrieval

The application uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to connect a question with relevant passages from the uploaded PDF. LangChain connects the retrieval step to answer generation.

A document-focused conversation

The document list sits alongside the chat, keeping the selected PDF visible during the conversation. Next.js and TypeScript provide the application layer around the retrieval workflow.
